Drawing and Modeling Exercises:
Drawing and modeling exercises take place with sculptor and lecturer Gustav Mayer every second Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For further information, please contact the student advisory service at maske@theaterakademie.de.
From October 28th to 30th, 2024 there will be a modeling workshop with sculptor and lecturer Gustav Mayer with a focus on physiognomy, as well as study and portfolio consultations with Prof. Verena Effenberg and Johanna Simon. Participation only after registration at maske@theaterakademie.de.

Qualifications
The intensive course of studies in Wigs, Make-up and Special Make-up Effects for Stage and Screen comprises a Bachelor's and a Master's degree course:
- Bachelor’s degree course: six semesters and 210 ECTS credit points
- Master’s degree course: three semesters and 90 ECTS credit points
By means of dovetailing the two courses in the sixth semester, the Bachelor's and Master's degree courses can be completed in a total of eight semesters, i.e. four years.

Statement by the director of studies
This course in Wigs, Make-up and Special Make-up Effects for Stage and Screen prepares students across a wide technical, stylistic and aesthetic spectrum for the multi-faceted profession of the wig-maker/make-up artist. The course concept focuses on developing both practical, artistic skills and theoretical, analytical skills. Thus, the Bachelor’s degree course in Wigs, Make-up and Special Make-up Effects for Stage and Screen leads to an initial vocational qualification, preparing graduates for this wide-ranging vocational area. This in-depth course facilitates students' entry to the profession; our graduates have an excellent placement rate in Germany and abroad.
The focus of the Master's degree course is placed more strongly on broadening and further developing students' creative personality. It succeeds in including their make-up creations as an independent achievement within the overall context of a production.
The introduction of a Master's degree course is to be seen as an innovation in the field of Wigs, Make-up and Special Make-up Effects for Stage and Screen and is a unique selling point of the Academy within the German and European higher education system.
