Drama and Music Theatre - Master of Arts (M.A.)
Approach
In the master's degree course in dramaturgy, the theory of theatre studies at the LMU is combined with practical work at the Theatre Academy.
Lessons
- Research seminars on theatre historiography, aesthetics of contemporary theatre, interdisciplinary art and media studies
- Dramaturgical Practice I: Text Work and creating a theatre schedule
- Speech training, singing, piano, Italian and acting lessons of your choice
- Concept development together with stage directing and stage design
- Free project development in cooperation with experienced theatre makers
- Excursions to theatres and theatre festivals, including Berliner Theatertreffen, Ruhrtriennale, Theater der Welt and many more
- Dramaturgical practice II: law, PR, stage design and stage technology
- Production dramaturgy at the theatre academy with accompanying supervision
- Compulsory internship and free projects inside and outside the Theatre Academy
- Workshops on media technologies, children and youth theatre, free music theatre, scenic curating and much more
- Master thesis and examination interview
