What is it about?

The musical theatre course at the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding teaches all the basic practical and theoretical skills of the musical theatre profession. Due to the masterful combination of singing, dancing and acting, which make up the musical genre, the course requires a high level of commitment, energy and stamina.

Due to a possible interlinking in the 6th semester, both courses can be studied in a total of eight semesters, i.e. in four years.

The Musical course is part of the cooperation model of the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding and the University of Music and Theatre Munich.
The training takes place in the rooms of the Theaterakademie in the Prinzregententheater in Munich.

MUSICAL PREPARATION WORKSHOP:

Would you like to prepare for an entrance exam in musical theatre and see where you stand? Are you looking for advice on your song repertoire? Would you like to perform your monologues and get some feedback? Would you like to show off a choreography you’ve worked on and find out what else you could do with it? Then the preparation workshop at the Bayerische Theaterakademie August Everding is just the thing for you! Here you’ll have the chance to work with tutors on your song or monologue and refine your choreography. We’re happy to advise you on all aspects of your application.

INTRODUCTORY WORKSHOP:

Are you passionate about theatre and musicals? Do you think this might be something for you? Do you simply want to find out what it’s like to study musical theatre? In our introductory workshop, you’ll have the chance to spend a whole day getting a taste of what rehearsals are like at the Bayerische Theaterakademie: workshops in singing, acting and dance will show you the many facets of this profession. You’ll also get to meet our students and have the chance to chat with lecturers. If you’re interested in musicals and theatre: Sign up!
